Bushnell 2.5 x 42 Night Vision Monocular features advance light-gathering technology. First, it gathers any light available through the lens and focuses it onto an image intensifier. The collected light is then processed through a highly sensitive image sensor and electronics, the CMOS chips which create images of objects by converting the light into electrons. The electrons accelerate across an electrostatic field inside the intensifier and end up striking a phosphor screen, resulting in an image which is then displayed on an LCD display screen. Besides displaying images on the built-in display screen, the monocular can also transmit them to video camcorders, computer monitors, and television screens
How about when you are in total darkness? Enter another great feature of the Bushnell Night Vision Monocular, the infrared illuminators. The monocular has two built-in infrared diodes, one is always on, the other one can be turned on and off. When there is no light source at all, the device can send out ambient infrared beams to function as light source, so that the monocular can gather and amplify the that light in order to generate image of objects for you to see.
The Night Vision Bushnell Monocular has a good 42 mm objective lens and 2.5 times magnification. Its focus distance is 4 feet and its viewing range is 400 to 600 feet.
